Dryer Vent/Duct Cleaning

Did you know that lint-clogged dryer vents are one of the main causes of home fires? Each year, 2,900 residential dryer fires are recorded, resulting in an estimated 5 fatalities, 100 injuries, and $35 million in property damage.

Every time you use your dryer, vents catch direct, dander, dust, and other impurities. People frequently fail to notice or disregard the warning indications of a blocked dryer vent, which can have severe consequences.

We adhere to the high standards set forth by the National Air Duct Cleaners Association when it comes to dryer vent cleaning. The NADCA has been establishing the benchmark for industry professionals when it comes to source removal of impurities for dryer vents since 1989.

What are the benefits of our HVAC duct cleaning service?

  1. Improved Indoor Air Quality: One of the most significant benefits of HVAC cleaning is the improvement in indoor air quality. Over time, dust, pollen, pet dander, mold, and other contaminants can accumulate in the ductwork. Cleaning these components helps reduce airborne pollutants, making the air you breathe cleaner and healthier. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions.
  2. Energy Efficiency: A clean HVAC system operates more efficiently. When ducts are free of dirt and debris, air can flow more easily through the system, reducing strain on the HVAC unit. As a result, the system consumes less energy to maintain the desired temperature, leading to potential energy savings and lower utility bills.
  3. Extended Equipment Lifespan: Regular HVAC cleaning and maintenance can extend the life of your heating and cooling equipment. Clean systems experience less wear and tear, reducing the likelihood of breakdowns and the need for costly repairs or premature replacements.
  4. Enhanced System Performance: HVAC cleaning ensures that the system performs optimally, providing consistent and reliable heating and cooling throughout your space. This consistency leads to a more comfortable indoor environment year-round.
  5. Odor Removal: Lingering odors in your home or business may be the result of mold, bacteria, or dust buildup within the HVAC system. Cleaning the ducts removes these odor-causing contaminants, leaving your space smelling fresh and clean.
  6. Reduced Allergens and Irritants: Dust, pollen, and other allergens trapped in the ducts can circulate throughout the building, causing allergy symptoms and respiratory irritation. HVAC cleaning removes these irritants, providing relief to occupants with allergies or sensitivities.
  7. Healthier Living and Working Environment: A clean HVAC system contributes to a healthier living and working environment. By eliminating harmful contaminants, you create a space that promotes overall well-being and productivity.
  8. Peace of Mind: Knowing that your HVAC system is clean and well-maintained gives you peace of mind. You can trust that the air circulating throughout your property is free from harmful particles, making your space safer for you, your family, or your employees.
  9. Fire Hazard Reduction: In commercial settings or properties with a lot of dust accumulation, dirty ductwork can pose a fire hazard. Regular HVAC cleaning mitigates this risk and ensures the safety of your property.
  10. Compliance with Industry Standards: In some cases, regular HVAC cleaning may be required to comply with industry regulations and maintain certifications for specific industries like healthcare or food service.

How do we clean your HVAC duct system?

  1. Initial Assessment: Before starting the cleaning process, our trained technicians will inspect the HVAC system and ductwork. This assessment helps us identify any visible contaminants, blockages, or mold growth within the ducts. It also helps determine the appropriate Nikro equipment and accessories required for the cleaning process.
  2. Setup and Preparation: Our technician will set up the Nikro equipment, which typically includes a high-powered vacuum unit and various duct cleaning tools. The vacuum unit is placed inside the home, at the HVAC trunk to create negative pressure within the ducts during cleaning. Before beginning the actual cleaning, the technician will protect the surrounding areas and furnishings to prevent any mess. We will also seal all ducts in the home so that each one is cleaned one at a time.
  3. Duct Agitation: We use a range of specialized duct cleaning tools and brushes designed to agitate and dislodge debris, dust, and contaminants from the interior surfaces of the ductwork. These tools are usually attached to flexible rods that allow the technician to navigate through the ducts effectively. We also use compressed agitation tools to knock loose any dust and debris while the system is under vacuum.
  4. High-Volume Vacuuming: As the technician agitates the ducts, the powerful Nikro vacuum unit inside the building effectively captures and removes the loosened contaminants. The negative pressure created by the vacuum ensures that dislodged debris is drawn into the vacuum and not released into the living spaces. Our vacuums have all the necessary HEPA filers to ensure no dust or contamination enters the living space.
  5. Spot Cleaning (if needed): In some cases, there may be stubborn or heavily soiled areas that require additional attention. We may use specific tools to include spot cleaning to address such areas.
  6. Sanitization (an Additional service): If the initial assessment reveals the presence of mold, bacteria, or fungi, Eclipse home services will offer specialized products or solutions for sanitizing the ductwork. Sanitization helps ensure that the ducts are not only clean but also free from harmful microorganisms.
  7. Post-Cleaning Inspection: Once the cleaning process is complete, a post-cleaning inspection is conducted to verify that all ducts are clean and that the HVAC system is functioning optimally. The technician will ensure that all debris and contaminants have been effectively removed.
  8. Air Filter Replacement: It is recommended that a new air filter be installed at the time of cleaning. Eclipse can do this if the homeowner would like to add this service.
  9. Final Cleanup: The technician will clean up the work area, removing any equipment and protecting materials used during the process.
